About Laurel

At an early age, Laurel George discovered that laughter was the best medicine. She’s been taking the stage performing comedy for more than twenty years in many regional productions in Louisville, KY, as well as Orlando and Tampa, FL.  In 2007, a career move took Laurel and her husband to Chicago where she fell in love with long‐form improv. Studying at iO Chicago, she performed on iO’s Harold team Owl Farm for two years. She studied music improv at Second City and advanced long‐form at Annoyance Theater.  While in Chicago she became the City Director for the non‐profit Funny Bones Improv, serving as coach, producer and performer.  In 2013, another career move took the Georges to Pittsburgh where she trained at Arcade Comedy Theater and Steel City Improv. In Pittsburgh, Laurel was an ensemble member on the music improv team and a Harold team at Arcade, consulted on Arcade’s children’s programming and produced her own two‐person show at Steel City Improv, By George.  On screen, she portrayed Aunt Flo in Paramount Pictures’ “Not Cool” and in Starz Original Network’s series “The Chair”.   Now that she’s in Tulsa, Laurel is looking forward to being a part of comedy community!
